Merry Christmas, everyone! What a lovely long Christmas season that we get. Why, if you took a fancy to it, you could celebrate until the Presentation, though it technically ends two weeks from Sunday. Still, that's sixteen days from today!
Things I am happy about right now: I went to confession on Christmas Eve, finished all my Christmas socks in time, and we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!
A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN TEXAS!!!!!! So, yes, it wasn't a ton of snow and most of it was gone the next day, but a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!
We usually go to the 5 PM vigil Mass on Christmas Eve because two of my little sisters are in the children's choir, and we did, and guess what? They didn't sing "Go Tell It on the Mountain". Doesn't that warm the cockles of your heart? Okay, I guess it makes me a grinch or scrooge or something, but I don't like that song.
I got this in my stocking. Isn't it amazing?
Good old Santa Claus saw fit to give my family a Wii for Christmas, despite my father's assurances that we would never ever get any kind of video game console. I'm now addicted to Mario Kart. Golly, that thing is fun! (However, I'm terrible at it.)
Overall, it's been a delightful Christmas, and is there anything more pleasant than lounging around without worrying about schoolwork, and being able to choose between browsing the internet, knitting a new non-deadline sock while watching I Love Lucy, or reading a book? No. Besides, I have a tin with my stocking chocolate in it. And since it's a festive season, I think I'll make some Nutella-peanut butter-oatmeal cookies tonight. If they turn out, I'll post the link.
